The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) is the EU’s initiative to ensure a fair carbon price on imported goods with significant carbon footprints. It aims to level the playing field for EU producers and encourage cleaner industrial practices in non-EU countries.
Starting 1 January 2026, CBAM enters its Definitive Phase, introducing direct financial obligations for importers of carbon-intensive products.
